Bluetooth active on the MacBook
To turn on Bluetooth on your MacBook, click the status menu at the top right of the screen on the Bluetooth icon. From the Drop-Down menu, select the item "turn Bluetooth on". The Bluetooth icon in the status bar now displays a darker shade that Bluetooth is turned on.

Bluetooth devices to configure
Click again on the Bluetooth icon. The Drop-Down menu now displays all known Bluetooth devices. When you connect your device for the first Time with your MacBook, you need to configure it first. Click on the menu entry "set up Bluetooth device".

Search for new Bluetooth devices
In a new window, your MacBook starts to search for Bluetooth devices. Select the desired device from the list. It should not be displayed, make sure that it is turned on and within range.

Bluetooth connection to authenticate
Your MacBook calls for you to authenticate the Bluetooth connection. To do this, enter the device you want to connect to, the combination of numbers that is displayed on the Mac.

Click again on the Bluetooth icon in the status menu and point the mouse on the newly configured device. Select In the drop-down menu and click "Connect" or in the case of mobile phones "network connect" to pair the device with the MacBook.
